October has been another positive month for Plymouth International Rotary with plenty of progress being made as we continue to grow, develop and shape the future direction of our Club.

A big focus this month has been on membership growth, establishing a new direction for the Club and beginning to put plans in place for what we want to achieve throughout 2027.

It feels like we’re entering an exciting stage of development, with more people getting involved, new ideas coming forward and the foundations becoming stronger each month.

Growing Our Membership

One of the biggest highlights continues to be the increase in our membership.

We set ourselves an end of year target of reaching 30 members and we’re now fast approaching that milestone.

What’s particularly encouraging is that our growth isn’t just about numbers. We’re bringing together people from different backgrounds, professions and experiences all with something different to offer.

Every new member brings fresh ideas, connections and opportunities, helping us expand what we can achieve as a Club.

Reaching 30 members before the end of the year would be a fantastic milestone and a great platform to build from as we move into 2027.

A New Direction for the Club

October has also been about looking at the bigger picture and continuing to establish the direction we want Plymouth International Rotary to take. With that we have welcomed our first partnership sponsorship with Plymouth Highbury Trust! A Charity that is the foundation for many individuals who seek support, whether financial, in person care or a safe space. They are pivotal across Plymouth, so it’s an honour to be now working so closely in partnership.

As the Club grows, it’s important that we continue to evolve with it.

We want to create opportunities for more members to take the lead, bring forward their own ideas, develop projects and become actively involved in the areas they’re passionate about.

For me, building a successful Club has never been about one person leading everything. It’s about creating an environment where people feel involved, valued and confident enough to make things happen.

That approach will continue to shape how we develop moving forward.

Planning for 2027

With the end of the year approaching, our attention is increasingly turning towards 2027.

There are already conversations and planning taking place around upcoming events, community projects, partnerships and opportunities to work alongside other organisations across Plymouth. Events such as Youth Projects in local Schools, Santa Christmas Events …

We want 2027 to be a year where we build on everything we’ve started, become even more visible within our community and deliver projects that create genuine lasting impact.

Our ambition is to continue developing relationships, bringing organisations together and making the most of the skills and connections within our growing membership.

Looking Ahead

October has been another important month in building the foundations of Plymouth International Rotary.

We’re approaching our target of 30 members, developing a clearer direction for the Club and beginning to shape what we want the next year to look like.

There is still plenty to do before we close out 2026, but the progress we’ve made so far is something we should all be proud of.

When I took on the role of President, I wanted to help build a Club that was active, forward thinking, youthful, welcoming and genuinely connected to its community.

We’re continuing to move towards that vision and what’s particularly exciting is that it’s becoming something we’re building together.

30 members is now firmly within reach. 2027 is on the horizon and we’re only just getting started.
