The King's Walk 2026

A Day of Community, Connection and Celebration

On Sunday 16th August, communities across the UK came together to take part in The King's Walk 2026 – and what an incredible day it was.

The event provided a fantastic opportunity for people to get outdoors, connect with others and celebrate the communities that make our towns and cities such special places to live.

For us, it was about far more than completing a walk. It was about bringing people together, encouraging conversation, strengthening community spirit and sharing a common purpose. There is something truly inspiring about seeing people of all ages and backgrounds set aside their busy lives to spend time outdoors and take part in an event that unites everyone.

Our District in Action

We were proud to see so many clubs from across our district taking part in this year's King's Walk. A huge thank you to the members of Plymouth International, Exeter, Southernhay & Topsham, Dawlish Water and Wadebridge, whose participation helped showcase the strength, friendship and community spirit that exists across our district.

A Community Effort

Events like The King's Walk don't happen without the dedication of countless volunteers, organisers and supporters working behind the scenes. Months of planning and preparation all came together today, and the reward was seeing so many smiling faces, new friendships formed and lasting memories created.

A special thank you goes to Liandra from Plymouth International Rotary, whose exceptional organisation and coordination brought together all of the participating clubs across the district. Her hard work, commitment and attention to detail ensured everything ran smoothly and played a key role in making the event such a success. Also a big thank you to the current Lord Mayor of Plymouth Kevin Sprosten who joined Plymouth International for our walk.

 As communities across the UK celebrated together, we're incredibly proud to have played our part in this nationwide event. We look forward to building on it's success and welcoming even more people to future King's Walk events.
